Hybridized by Jean-Pierre Vibert 1998
photographed by Jocelen Janon at Cour de Commer
This fragrant rose has single to semi-double flowers, which expose golden stamens when open. The petals are dark red with a violet reverse. Wood is fine. This rose suckers easily on its own roots.
Named after Péronne d'Unchair, Lady of Armentières, the late love and subject of Guillaume de Machaut's lyrical poem: Le Voir Dit, written in 1364.
