Sharifa Asma

class: David Austin Rose
breeding: Austin, 1989
photographed by Daphne Filiberti in her garden

'Sharifa Asma' is an opalescent beauty. The roses open into shallow cups that reflex into perfect rosettes. The outer petals are translucent, while the inner petals are like finely colored pearls in shades of soft sunlight-yellow and pink. These roses have an intoxicating perfume of damask, laced with peaches and a touch of lemon. They are nice when planted in groups of at least three. They are wonderful in arrangements with other soft colored roses. I have had the roses planted for several years. They are compact plants, around three feet, and are rarely without flowers. I haven't noticed any disease.
